Interview with Innovo

Innovo, also known as rulzalot, is a successful scripter that scripted for one of ROBLOX's largest groups, The Roblox Assault Team.

Innovo has worked with several other builders and scripters to create Borealis, one of RAT's main forts, and started working on a new combat system, called Celeritas, but eventually cancelled the project.

What got you interested in scripting?

I was probably 11 years old or so. I forgot what it exactly was that got me into scripting, but I've always had an interest into figuring out what makes things tick. Lua was a good start, and even today I apply it to things outside of ROBLOX.

What are your biggest accomplishments from scripting?

Celeritas (A Roblox Assault Team Project). Due to unfortunate circumstances, I haven't released it and don't intend on doing so unless requested enough, but it was one of those experiences where everything you have ever learned proved itself useful in getting the project finished. It helped me realize how important knowledge about both coding and math are essential to creating novel system and simulating real life systems. It's actually what got me really interested into physics and the math describing it.

How do you apply Lua scripting to things outside of ROBLOX?

Hah, this is a good question actually. Just today I finished a program using Lua to help me study for my PSAT's coming later this year. The teacher of my PSAT team class gave us a huge list of words we have to memorize, but no methods to learn them. Because of this I decided I'd make a program to simulate the vocabulary portion of the PSAT test, breaking up the list of 125 words into 6 lessons with 25 words each. It works like a charm.

The Iconic Hat

Shaggy
As of January 11 2010, a certain hat has dominated the catalog. This hat is now iconic throughout the community of Robloxia and shall forever remain so. The hat currently has five variations/retextures. All are unique in their own way. Not guessed which hat yet? It is of course the Shaggy. Many people often tend to underestimate the power of the Shaggy. It has drawn over one million sales of the three million active users on ROBLOX. How wonderful! This makes it the best selling hat of all time!
However, the Shaggy has a story. A lot of people believe that the Shaggy was the first variation created/the original Shaggy. It is a widely unknown fact that the Rock Star with Side Swept Bangs was created less than a month previously.
Although these two variations of the glorious hats were the original Shaggies, the rarest and potentially the greatest Shaggy remains the Rainbow Shaggy. It's ability to stand out in a crowd makes it one of the most wanted hats on ROBLOX. The current asking price of a Rainbow Shaggy (on the date this post was created) is R$1,500,000. The hat was created 10/20/2011. The description of such a glorious hat was "Because regular shaggys just don't express the depth of your complicated soul".
Then, just over a month ago, another iconic hat was created. Another variation of the Shaggy. This was entitled Midnight Blue Shaggy. The description of this was a slight variation of the Rainbow Shaggy's: "Because rainbow shaggys just don't express the depth of your complicated soul".
Then another strike of the Shaggy struck ROBLOX a mere week or two after the Midnight Blue Shaggy. This was created to celebrate Independence Day in America. It sold for a mere R$1K. It was named Red, White, and Shaggy.

As an owner of all five variations of the Shaggy, in my opinion, I believe the Rainbow Shaggy (often shortened to RS) is the greatest Shaggy of the current age.

Profile Views Removal - Good or Bad?

If you haven't noticed yet, ROBLOX has removed the profile views feature. Is this a good or bad thing?
Many people have used F5 on their profile to
quickly increase their views, making it
almost completely pointless to even have.
On the bright side though, the profile views feature was a classic way of seeing the amount of people that would view your profile, and checkpoints such as 100,000 views would make you seem famous- but that's also the cause of people F5ing their profile.
Some argue if profile views should be enabled or disabled. In my own opinion I think they should be enabled. It's fun getting to a milestone such as 100,000 views, but it would be better without people F5'ing their profile. What do you guys think?

Top 3 Must-See-Places Today!

The Residence of Virtualdarks by Virtualdarks

Ever seen a completely black and white mansion? You should definitely come to this place. It has an amazing and sharp detail, and there's 4 stories to see!  Even though the color's plain and it's made out of simply black and white, the creativity and structure of the mansion looks simply beautiful.

When I saw this place, I wasn't quite sure how to explain it. It just looked amazing with the detail and everything. You walk down a beautiful hallway filled with giant statues, then you enter a mysterious room with 6 chairs, and a table. If you look closely at some objects in the game, you can see how much precision and detail they have in them.

Metro 2025 is a futuristic subway station with lots to explore. After walking around the map, you'll slowly start seeing more and more things, such as opened doors that you can walk through, or an old man- never mind. I don't want to spoil the secrets!

Interview with FlameFunnyButt

Some of you may know of or heard of FlameFunnyButt, the logo maker. I decided to sit down with him and interview him about his logo business.
Example of one of his logos

Why did you start making logos?

All the logo's sucked, so I wanted to make good ones :P

Once you started making logos, what shocked you the most as you started getting better and better?

After I started getting better, more requests were coming in and people tried to outbid each other. I held auctions for logos, and I once got 17,000 robux for one logo.

Do you have any tips for future logo makers?

My tip is to go to small groups and offer them the first piece of art free. Then, if they like you, they'll order more, but for a price. I did this and eventually I dominated superclan logos in 2012, almost the whole first page were my logos.

City Hall Subway Station | New York City - Review

Most of you should know about the group EBR (Elite Builders of ROBLOX). They're a group of builders with amazing attention to detail and a very high level of skill when it comes to building. I recently went to one their members, SUPERDUDE52, and went to go look at one of his places, City Hall Subway Station | New York City

Various pictures of City Hall Subway Station | New York City by SUPERDUDE52.

The amount of detail that went into it is amazing, with thousands of blocks in a very small area. Though the place doesn't have any actual use, it showcases his great building ability and demonstrates how elite EBR builders really are.

ROBLOX Update: Outlines

Recently, ROBLOX has updated gameplay by adding in outlines. Basically, outlines creates thin lines between the bricks, while before there would be no lines and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between two blocks put together and 1.

Example of outlines

But there's been major controversy about the update. Some people thinks it adds more of the blocky building style, while others think it makes levels look hideous with outlines. 6 EBR (Elite Builders of ROBLOX) have left ROBLOX due to the outlines update. The outlines made a big impact on the ROBLOX community, was it a good idea for ROBLOX to add in outlines?
